    The fabric on the Setu chair is called Lyris. Lyris can be described as a type of mesh material that was selected because of its strength, flexibility and ability to allow air to flow well through the back and seat. The Lyris fabric works together with the Setu’s spine to distribute weight evenly and conform to your body.

    I’m including a link to a short video clip that shows Setu’s designers, Studio 7.5, demonstrating the chair. There are quite a few helpful views of the fabric in the video.

    I would also encourage other owners of the Setu to post an answer to give more first hand accounts of how Setu feels and breathes.

    Our Lyris suspension fabric is designed for seating to bear a user's weight with the ability to recover after a user has left the chair. The material contains what is called an "elastomeric yarn," which contributes to long term comfort and support, as well as the stretch and recovery properties. It has been put through a variety of strenuous testing to ensure that the chair maintains its full support for a minimum of 12 years and does not stretch out over time. Along with the long-term durability, Lyris also provides air flow to keep you cool and works with the spine of the chair to evenly distribute your weight for comfort.

    Setu has a height adjustment that allows you to select a seat height in the range of 15.5 - 20 inches. It does not provide specific tilt adjustments, but does allow you to comfortably tilt in the chair. The unique spine for Setu is made of a material that can also be found in toothbrushes and garbage cans. The combination of materials used for the spine and the spokes within the spine helps create strength and flexibility in a lightweight and durable form.

    If you are looking for a tilt adjustment, you may also want to consider Aeron or Mirra. Both chairs allow you to order specific tilt options to give you more control over your recline.

    The Setu Chair with 5-Star Base has an arm to floor height range of 23 to 27.5 inches. The arm to floor height will fall within that range depending on what seat height you have the chair adjusted to. Setu has a seat height adjustment range of 15.5 to 20 inches.

    A Perfect Fit for the Home Office My partner and I are different heights, and we share a den that’s used occasionally for a full work day from home. We wanted a chair that would be comfortable for a long period and that would adapt nicely for each of us. However, we didn’t want a chair that would stick out in our home office as an “office chair.” Setu is a nice compromise between comfort and appearance that blends nicely into the home decor, thanks to the available custom-order colors to suit the owner’s space and also to the clean appearance without the knobs and dials of a more typical office chair.
