Weight capacity varies by chair size. Size A supports up to 300 pounds. Size B accommodates up to 350 pounds. Size C handles up to 400 pounds.

The Aeron Chair does not include a headrest as part of its standard design or available factory options. The chair's engineering focuses on supporting the spine from the sacrum through the lumbar region, not the cervical spine or head. This design philosophy stems from research showing that proper lumbar and sacral support naturally encourages correct head and neck positioning.

After-market headrest attachments exist, but Herman Miller does not manufacture or endorse them. These third-party accessories may affect the chair's warranty and performance characteristics.

The remastered Aeron introduced several improvements over the classic version. The updated 8Z Pellicle material offers more sophisticated zonal support with eight distinct tension zones compared to the original's simpler suspension. Herman Miller also refined the PostureFit SL system to provide more precise sacral and lumbar adjustment.

Material changes include new frame finishes like Onyx Ultra Matte and updated base options. The remastered version offers Mineral, Nightfall, and Jasper frame colors alongside the classic Graphite and Black. Polished aluminum bases joined the existing finish options.

The tilt mechanism received updates for smoother operation. The remaster added Quiet Roll technology to the multi-surface casters, reducing noise on hard floors and providing subtle braking when the chair is unoccupied.

There are many ways to adjust your Aeron Chair. The pneumatic seat height lever sits beneath the right side of the seat. Pull the lever upward while seated to lower the chair. Pull the lever while standing or lifting your weight off the seat to raise it.

The tilt tension knob, located under the front center of the seat, controls recline resistance. Turn the knob clockwise to increase tension, making recline more difficult. Turn counterclockwise to decrease tension for easier recline. Adjust until you can recline smoothly without the chair pushing you forward or falling back too easily.

For chairs equipped with the Tilt Limiter and Seat Angle feature, a second control lets you set maximum recline range. This adjustment offers three positions: upright, mid-recline, and full-recline. The seat angle adjustment tilts the seat forward up to 5 degrees for users who prefer working in a slightly forward position.
