Alexander Girard designed this richly hued throw blanket as part of an astounding 17,543-item brand identity system for Braniff International Airways in 1965. The Girard Throw is recreated today by Pendleton—whose blankets Girard avidly collected.

For normal cleaning, vacuum upholstery fabric using an upholstery attachment. If further cleaning is needed, dry-clean or spot clean fabric with solvent cleaner.

Do not brush fabric or use a vacuum attachment with a rotary brush. Brushing may permanently damage the nap or change the character of the fabric.

Do not apply water or any liquid solution. Wetting the fabric with any liquid solution may result in permanent damage.

Dramatic authenticity combined with simple clean colors

Beautiful Item
The different colorways fit into a lot of different situations.

They are soft and comfortable and add a pop of color to a space. I like the legacy of design Girard shares with the original Braniff.

I Love This Classic Throw
This throw exceeded my highest expectations. I purchased the black and white version. The white squares on the throw are black on the other side, and vice versa. The throw is warm without smothering you like many synthetic throws. Also the Herman Miller and Pendleton tags are silky and feel fantastic.

Nice, warm blanket
I bought this as a gift for my husband, since he likes to nap on our living room couch. He loves it. The blanket is a classic, made of warm wool and just the right size!

Great MCM Design
Got two of these to given as gifts. Great color blends. High quality. I like that they are wool. They are softer than most all wool throws.

Great Design
EGreat I have a special connection to the throw! As the V.P. Of Design at Herman Miller ( 1964-1979) I had the privilege of working with Sando Girard and specifically the design of the Girard furniture for Braniff and the L'Etoile Restaurznt in N.Y. As well as textiles for Herman Miller.
