MillerKnoll® Refurbished U.S. and Canada Limited Warranty

This MillerKnoll® Refurbished U.S. and Canada Limited Warranty (“Warranty”) applies exclusively to Herman Miller-branded products sold as refurbished products through authorized channels in the United States and Canada. This Warranty is separate from, and does not alter, the MillerKnoll® U.S. and Canada Limited Warranty applicable to new products.


Coverage and Duration

Subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein, MillerKnoll, Inc. (“MillerKnoll”), 855 East Main Avenue, PO Box 302, Zeeland, Michigan 49464-0302, USA, warrants that a Herman Miller refurbished product sold by it, its subsidiaries, or authorized resellers will be free from defects in materials and workmanship that impair the functional operation of the refurbished product under normal use for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase of the refurbished product.


This Warranty covers functional components and mechanisms only and includes parts and labor necessary to repair or replace covered components, at MillerKnoll’s sole option.


What MillerKnoll Will Do

During the applicable warranty period, and as its sole obligation under this Warranty, MillerKnoll will repair or replace any product, part, or component that fails under normal use due to a defect in materials or workmanship. MillerKnoll will repair or replace the aforementioned product, part, or component with a comparable product, part, or component. Any repaired or replaced product, part, or component may be new, refurbished, or remanufactured, and shall be functionally equivalent to the original.


Who Is Covered

This Warranty:

  • Applies only to the original end-user purchaser
  • Is non-transferable
  • Applies only to Herman Miller refurbished products purchased in the United States and Canada

The warranty period begins on the date of purchase of the refurbished product from MillerKnoll, its subsidiaries, or its authorized resellers.


Conditions of Coverage

The refurbished product must:

  • Be used in accordance with MillerKnoll’s published instructions
  • Be installed, adjusted, and maintained in a commercially reasonable manner
  • Not be subjected to misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, or unauthorized modification

Any misuse, abuse, or modification voids this Warranty.


Cosmetic Conditions and Prior Use (Not Covered)

This Warranty does not cover cosmetic conditions resulting from prior use. Cosmetic wear is normal and expected for refurbished products and does not affect performance, structural integrity, or functionality.


Cosmetic conditions are not considered defects and include, but are not limited to:

  • Scratches, scuffs, chips, or surface marks on the frame, base, or armrest caps
  • Discoloration, fading, or color variation of any component
  • Pellicle® mesh wear patterns, pilling, or minor snags that do not affect structural integrity
  • Surface wear on arm pads
  • Minor marks or blemishes on casters or gas cylinder housings

Cosmetic conditions present at the time of delivery are characteristic of the refurbished product’s prior use. Claims based solely on cosmetic appearance will not be honored under this Warranty.

MillerKnoll does not warrant the matching of colors, grains, textures, or finishes of replacement parts or components to the original product or to other refurbished units. Due to the nature of refurbished products, replacement parts or components may differ in appearance, finish, or generation from the original. Such variations do not constitute defects and are not covered under this Warranty.


Additional Exclusions

This Warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Pilling of textiles
  • Changes in surface finishes due to aging or exposure to light
  • Noise level changes in mechanisms that do not affect function
  • Damage caused by accidents, abuse, improper use, or improper maintenance
  • Customer’s Own Materials (COM) or third-party materials applied to the refurbished product


MillerKnoll does not warrant refurbished products used in combination with non-MillerKnoll components.


Limitations and Disclaimers

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE DISCLAIMED. TO THE EXTENT SUCH WARRANTIES ARE LEGALLY REQUIRED, THEY ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE TERM OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY.

MILLERKNOLL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR COMMERCIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF USE OR LOSS OF TIME.

Some jurisdictions do not permit limitations on implied warranties or exclusions of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply. This Warranty gives the purchaser specific legal rights; however, the purchaser may also have other rights that may vary from state to state.


Governing Scope

This Warranty applies only to Herman Miller-branded refurbished products sold through authorized channels and does not extend to new products, other brands, or products not sold as refurbished. This Warranty does not replace or modify any warranty applicable to new Herman Miller® products.


Effective Date

Effective for Herman Miller-branded refurbished products purchased on or after May 27, 2026.
