Neil Logan designed the Lispenard Collection for an art collector who wanted a contemporary sofa soft enough to sink into. The result proved so versatile that Herman Miller put it into production. Topped with feather-filled cushions that provide just the right amount of give, the Lispenard Sectional (2018) has round, hardwood legs available in an oak or walnut finish. This corner sectional is offered in a choice of two seat heights, and comes in dozens of fabric and leather upholsteries.

Neil Logan became an architect almost by accident. “I went to architecture school just out of the blue,” he says. An interest in furniture design grew in part out of a fascination with what he describes as “the gulf between an object in a space and the space itself,” which emerged in his early career as he began building structures and designing interiors – in other words, defining spaces.
