Often inspired by traditional folk art, Alexander Girard called upon his travels to Mexico and India to design his Millerstripe pattern, a panoramic composition featuring 40 distinct yarn colors developed by Maharam Design Studio. Created during Girard’s tenure as the director of Herman Miller’s Textile Division, Millerstripe is a brilliant accent pillow that reflects his belief that “fabrics are a building material” as well as his profound impact on 20th-century visual culture.
