People often ask where they can find the bold ads and graphic artworks that hang on the walls of our office spaces, which prompted us to reprint select pieces from our archives. The Coconut Chair Ad by Irving Harper with George Nelson & Associates is a lesson in restraint. Faced with a tight budget, two-color printing restriction, and limited product photography, Harper produced a series of award-winning promotional graphics, including this 1956 advertisement, for Herman Miller.

Keep out of direct sunlight. To maintain a high shine finish, use polishes recommended for acrylics.

Do not use window cleaning fluids, scouring compounds, gritty cloths, or strong solvents such as alcohol, ammonia, or acetone as they may damage the finish.
