Please fix design, clicks and pops when moving around
Have been using one at work for about a year. Just bought one for my home.
Chair makes clicky noise when coming up from a tilt limited angle. Armrests (fully adjustable ones) make annoying sound when you put your weight on them in the middle (does it on both sides so certain it isn't a workmanship defect). The posturefit parts make noise if you have them adjusted on the looser side.
You may not notice this stuff I you are in a loud office environment, but it is very easily noticible in a quiet home (full disclosure, I'm very picky). How did your designers, engineers, and quality assurance people not catch this stuff? I would gladly pay even more than the already very steep price for a product that doesn't make annoying clicky sounds (quiet but noticable).
On a positive note, the ergonomics are incredible. The materials are second to none. I also love the aesthetics.
Herman Miller, please fix your product and hit me up. I would gladly purchase again if random parts of the chair didn't pop and click.
Still in the market for a good ergonomic chair since embody has horrible armrests and mirra has durability issues (easily cracking plastic).

Response from Herman Miller
The Aeron Chair comes with a 12-year manufacturing defect warranty for original owners. I am so sorry to hear you are having issues with your chair making noises as you use it. I am emailing you to gather more information to better assess the next best steps.

Good quality, way overpriced
Good quality chair, if it were priced between $300-$700...
For $1,600, this chair should blow your mind, it does not do that.

I was experiencing sciatic nerve pain. I saw Herman Miller on “How It’s Made” and took an interest. I have had the chair for about a month now. The pain has gone away and I am more agile after sitting at my desk for extended periods.
The chairs are very expensive, but it was money well spent

Wonderful chair! A headrest was necessary due to my height and love of reclining.
I’m 6’2”, skinny and have a hard time finding a chair that fits me. I got the large version of this chair and it’s still too short for my torso. It’s fine when I have it locked upright and I sit up straight, but when I lean back, the hard plastic rim hits right across my shoulder blades. However, with a 3rd party headrest from Amazon, it fixed the discomfort and made it fully usable. I love the customization and use the multi position tilt lock far more than I anticipated. The hard-floor casters are awesome! I glide around easily even on my low-pile rug. I use the old version of the Aeron at my work and can feel the improvement in the lumbar support of the new version. For anyone that hasn’t tried the chair yet, it doesn’t “wow” immediately with comfort like a cushy recliner. The “wow” factor comes when you get out of the chair after a 10-hour work day and you aren’t sore.

Worth the money
Nice to see (and feel) that the praise for this chair was/is warranted. This is something that's "expensive in a good way"...meaning it's worth it. Make sure you order the correct size for your build. I'm extremely comfortable in the largest size and found the online sizing chart to be accurate. The chair was well-packed and arrived without damage. I ordered directly from the Herman Miller online store, and I would not hesitate to do so again. Not sure what else I can say. Extremely satisfied.

Quality chair
Just arrived today. I was very hesitant to purchase such an expensive chair, but my old $80 executive chair from Staples was going bad... and I was willing to afford the upgrade to last at least a decade. Had a few decade-old models at work so I knew ahead of time what kind of chair it was.
My only complaint is that the standard/non-adjustable arms are a bit too low for my taste, though that's completely my fault for not paying the extra 100 or so dollars to upgrade them to height-adjustable. Since it's my fault for not wanting to spend the extra money, and probably not worth a return/refund I won't take a star away, since the chair is very high quality and deserving of 5 stars.
Back support is very nice, the mesh you sit on is very comfortable, and build quality is fantastic.

overall quality chair
i feel weightless sometimes while sitting and the build is great.
only thing is i kinda wish the edges weren’t hard plastic. sometimes i like to fold on leg under the other and this chair keeps me from doing (might be a good thing), but i’d like to.

Everything is great, while forward tilt function can be improved.
The only function I'm not satisfied with is forward tilt, since it couldn't be locked at that position. More specifically, I couldn't sit firmly and comfortably without the chair back support, but it lacks that steady support while at forward tilt status. I sincerely hope forward tilt can lock the chair at that position.

Response from Herman Miller
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having with the Seat Angle option on your Aeron Chair. The Seat Angle allows the chair to be locked into a forward 5 degree tilt to ensure that the user is benefitted by the back support while still leaning forward. I am reaching out to you by email to find out a little more about your purchase to see what options are available to help with your chair's tilt function.

Good Chair
The chair was comfortable however it didn't do enough for my back pains to justify the cost. I have unfortunately since returned it. While owning it I enjoyed teh adjustability, and the lumbar support was decent however I wish it had gone a little higher.
My negatives include price as mentioned, and as someone who likes to sit cross legged unfortunately the plastic frame digs into my feet when I have them up.

Greatest chair I have ever sat on!
Super expensive, but one of the best things I have ever bought. If you spend a lot of time sitting down it's worth the investment. Incredible chair, really enjoying it!

Arm Adjustments on the Aeron Chair
What is the difference between height adjustable arms, adjustable arms and fully adjustable arms?
My guess is the following, but I really need to know!
Height = just up and down?
Adjustable = in and out (meaning toward seat base or out further away from seat base?
Fully Adjustable = both?
Thanks,
Cynthia

Best Answer: The differences between the arm options are below:
Height-Adjustable Arms adjust from a height of 6.8 inches above the seat to 10.8 inches above the seat. This gives you the ability to support your arms at a comfortable height.
Adjustable Arms adjust from a height of 6.8 inches above the seat to 10.8 inches above the seat and are able to pivot 15 degrees outward and 17.5 degrees inward.
Fully Adjustable Arms adjust from a height of 6.8 inches above the seat to 10.8 inches above the seat, slide backward and forward over a range of 2.5 inches, and pivot 15 degrees outward and 17.5 degrees inward.
Please contact the Herman Miller Store if you have any further questions at 888-798-0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.

On the cusp between B and C - which size?
I am just a hair shy of 6 feet, 5'11+3/4" let's say, and 175 pounds. I'm curious whether B or C is right for me; all of the Aeron chairs I've sat on in the past were C I believe, but I'm wondering if they were always actually a little large and the chair is "supposed" to feel a bit more snug. Or at my size, is C definitely the way to go?

Best Answer: The Aeron size B chair is recommend for 5'3"-5'11" and the Aeron size C chair is recommend for 6'0" and above.
The Remastered Aeron Chair has zonal support in the back and seat which will allow for a "more snug" fit than the Classic Aeron Chair.
Based off your height, we would recommend the C size Remastered Aeron Chair.

I know it is recommended to visit an authorized dealer but is it possible to buy the PostureFit addon subsequently and install it at home myself?

do you have chairs that come with headrest?
Best Answer: Any headrest versions of our chairs are not manufactured or supported by Herman Miller. The addition of an aftermarket attachment to the chair may void the warranty and potentially void the full ergonomic benefit of the chair.
Our High Performance Seating - Embody, Aeron, Mirra, and SAYL - support the spine at the sacrum (via PostureFit) and thoracic. By doing this, we stabilize the lumbar and cervical (neck). When you are sitting in the chairs correctly, your spine and neck are aligned and a headrest is not needed.

Can I specify the color of the pellicle material? A friend has "Carbon Classic Pellicle" but I do not see this option.
Best Answer: No, Pellicle colors and patterns from classic Aeron Chair are not available on new Aeron.
One of the benefits of new Aeron is the simplification in specifying the Pellicle. Even though Pellicle is still a specification step, the Pellicle color is tied to the frame finish you choose and there is only one option presented when you arrive at the Pellicle step.

Best Answer: The casters can be changed. We recommend gently laying the chair on it's side and pulling out the old casters. Depending upon age you may need to wiggle the caster as you pull firmly. Once the old casters are out you would push the new casters in.

I’m 5’11”, 210lbs. I have a 2012 Aeron size B at work. I love the chair, and am going to buy one for my home. I’m debating weather or not I should get the C size, based upon my body size. The B fits, but I’m wondering if C is going to be a better match?
Best Answer: We typically recommend the C size chair for anyone 6 foot or taller. Being 5'11" you are on the border and could go either way depending upon your build. One recommendation we have that can help choose a size is in the seat depth. We typically recommend about 2 inches from the back of your knee to the edge of the seat. The B size chair has a seat depth of 17 inches whereas the C size is 18.5 inches.

I need to purchase a chair for an individual who has a large behind and a high waist, she requires an adjustable lumbar support a little higher than normal. This individual is approximately 5 feet 4 inches and weighs approximately 240 pounds. Do you have any recommendations?
Best Answer: Based on her height I would recommend the Aeron chair in size B but I think the Celle chair would be more suitable. The Celle chair has a wider seat making it more accommodating for all sized users.

Are the fixed arms only installable at a single height? Or is it possible to re-install the arms at a different height manually with tools after the fact?
Best Answer: The fixed arms on the Aeron chair are set at one fixed height. The fixed arms are 8.5 inches above the seat. The cannot be removed and installed at a new height.
