Excellent chair
I was hesitant to spend $1k+ on a desk chair, but I work from home and spend hundreds of hours a month at my desk. Compared to the crap chair I had before, this is another world.

I can feel the strain that's been taken off my back with the posturefit feature. The 5 degree forward tilt is the greatest feature I never knew I needed until I had it.

Chair for My Boss
I ordered the chair for my boss, our company President, who came to me one day and stated he needed a new chair. I told him he needed an Aeron Chair, so he trusted me in ordering one for him. He loves it, and actually said "it's perfect".

office chair
Purchased for my home office. Had one at work and it is the only chair I have found that I can spend 8 hours per day sitting in comfortably.

Wow, best chair I’ve ever owned.
The chair is wonderful. Should have purchased much sooner. It’s the first chair that truly fits me. Unfortunately, this has ruined my work office chair for me and not sure my company will give me an upgrade.

Good enough
I use this chair in my clinic office. sitting for only 2 hours at a time at most usually 30-45 minutes at a time. I like the locking features that keep it from reclining too far when I just need to check an email or something real quick. the chair is easy to clean (this is important in a health clinic.) the adjustable armrest are great for stowing it under desk. that's all the good things I can say. considering my home chair was only $600, not as adjustable however, I have been able to sit in it for over 24 while playing in a charity stream, this I know I would never be able to do in the Aeron I can't stand sitting in it for more than 3 hours. no head support makes it difficult to relax in the Aeron. would I pay over $1,300 for this chair? no also considering that the wheels deteriorated and marked my floors. I would expect better quality and longer life. a great concept of a chair that falls just a bit short of high end perfection. still much that can be improved on.

Not too happy with this purchase
The color of arm-pads is not matching with the color of the chair frame. Never had this problem before. The customer service didn't help either. I wanted to return the chair, the customer service person said HM would send me a return label, but have not received it yet even after more a week long waiting.

Best chair for office!
I changed my desk from counter height to standard desk height... I previously used the Aeron Stool. The Aeron Chair was a natural choice. The Aeron is the most comfortable chair I have ever used and is rock solid for the abuse I dish out to it!

Expensive, but worth the cost.
Had one at work. Bought one for home after retirement.
Good build quality. Comfortable. Adjustable. Open-weave seat fabric breathes. Looks good. Casters roll well.
Expensive but worth the cost.

Arm Adjustments on the Aeron Chair

What is the difference between height adjustable arms, adjustable arms and fully adjustable arms?

My guess is the following, but I really need to know!

Height = just up and down?

Adjustable = in and out (meaning toward seat base or out further away from seat base?

Fully Adjustable = both?

Thanks,

Cynthia
A shopper on Oct 20, 2016
Best Answer: The differences between the arm options are below:

Height-Adjustable Arms adjust from a height of 6.8 inches above the seat to 10.8 inches above the seat. This gives you the ability to support your arms at a comfortable height.

Adjustable Arms adjust from a height of 6.8 inches above the seat to 10.8 inches above the seat and are able to pivot 15 degrees outward and 17.5 degrees inward.

Fully Adjustable Arms adjust from a height of 6.8 inches above the seat to 10.8 inches above the seat, slide backward and forward over a range of 2.5 inches, and pivot 15 degrees outward and 17.5 degrees inward.

What’s the difference in seat width of B chair also C chair?
Debbie S on Jan 25, 2018
Best Answer: The seat width for the B-size Aeron chair is 20.25 inches. The C-size Aeron chair seat width is 21.6 inches.

We can be reached at hmstore@hermanmiller.com or 888.798.0202 if you have any additional questions.
On the cusp between B and C - which size?

I am just a hair shy of 6 feet, 5'11+3/4" let's say, and 175 pounds. I'm curious whether B or C is right for me; all of the Aeron chairs I've sat on in the past were C I believe, but I'm wondering if they were always actually a little large and the chair is "supposed" to feel a bit more snug. Or at my size, is C definitely the way to go?
A shopper on May 23, 2017
Best Answer: The Aeron size B chair is recommend for 5'3"-5'11" and the Aeron size C chair is recommend for 6'0" and above.

The Remastered Aeron Chair has zonal support in the back and seat which will allow for a "more snug" fit than the Classic Aeron Chair.

Based off your height, we would recommend the C size Remastered Aeron Chair.

If there is anything else we can help with, please contact Herman Miller Store Customer Care at 888.798.0202.
WHICH SIZE IS REPRESENTED BY THE 3 DOTS ON THE BACK OF THE CHAIR?
LANA R on Apr 9, 2018

Can I remove the Adjustable PostureFit SL Support myself at home?
A shopper on Nov 29, 2016
Best Answer: The PostureFit SL can be taken off by removing the two bolts from the bottom of the backrest and pulling the wishbone piece up. We recommend that this change be done by a service technician or installer from an Authorized Herman Miller Dealer or Retailer.

Please contact the Herman Miller Store if you have any further question at 888-798-0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
Does the chair come already fully assembled?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2017

Please contact the Herman Miller Store if you have any further questions at 888-798-0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
measurement of base at wheels

What is the max measurement at the wheels on the small size. I have limited floor space and need to know how much will be required when i push the chair away from my desk.
A shopper on Dec 2, 2016
Best Answer: The outside diameter of the A-small size Aeron chair is 25.8 inches.

Please contact the Herman Miller Store if you have any further questions at 888-798-0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
Is the seatpan depth adjustable in this chair? If not, what would it cost to add that?
A shopper on May 24, 2017
Best Answer: The Aeron Chair does not have the option for an adjustable seat pan.

Should you run into any challenges, please contact the Herman Miller Store at 888.798.0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
Can arms be added later?

If I buy this chair now without arms, can I add arms at a later date?
A shopper on Dec 10, 2016
Best Answer: You may add arms to the Aeron Chair after purchase. This can be one through an authorized Dealer.

To find the Authorized Dealer closest to you, please follow this link: http://www.hermanmiller.com/Store/Find-a-Location

Continuous Usage 8 or 12hrs

Is thi chair design 24hrs 365 usage such as an operation control center?
A shopper on Dec 5, 2016
Best Answer: The Aeron Chair is rated for 24/7/365 usage and would be ideal option.

Please contact the Herman Miller Store if you have any further questions at 888-798-0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
Adding PostureFit

I know it is recommended to visit an authorized dealer but is it possible to buy the PostureFit addon subsequently and install it at home myself?
A shopper on Dec 1, 2016
Best Answer: The PostureFit SL requires a back change as there are two holes at the bottom of the back that Posturefit SL is anchored to. The Classic Aeron PostureFit cannot be added to the new Aeron Chair due to the different dimensions of the Classic vs the Remastered version.

Please contact the Herman Miller Store if you have any further questions at 888-798-0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
does the wheel lock?
nancy on Mar 26, 2019
Best Answer: The wheel on the Aeron chair does not lock. If you choose the 2.5-inch Hard floors or Carpet Roll-Away Resistant Casters with Quiet Roll Technology the chair will be harder to push when the chair is not in use. When the user is sitting in the chair it will roll freely.
replacement wheels?
Michelle h on May 24, 2018
Best Answer: Replacement wheels for the Aeron chair can be purchased here: http://store.hermanmiller.com/search?q=casters&lang=en_US.

For additional questions, we can be reached at 888.798.0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
do you have chairs that come with headrest?
A shopper on May 3, 2017
Best Answer: Any headrest versions of our chairs are not manufactured or supported by Herman Miller. The addition of an aftermarket attachment to the chair may void the warranty and potentially void the full ergonomic benefit of the chair.

Our High Performance Seating - Embody, Aeron, Mirra, and SAYL - support the spine at the sacrum (via PostureFit) and thoracic. By doing this, we stabilize the lumbar and cervical (neck). When you are sitting in the chairs correctly, your spine and neck are aligned and a headrest is not needed.

If there is anything else we can help with, please contact Herman Miller Store Customer Care at 888.798.0202.
Can I specify the color of the pellicle material? A friend has "Carbon Classic Pellicle" but I do not see this option.
A shopper on Mar 8, 2017
Best Answer: No, Pellicle colors and patterns from classic Aeron Chair are not available on new Aeron.

One of the benefits of new Aeron is the simplification in specifying the Pellicle. Even though Pellicle is still a specification step, the Pellicle color is tied to the frame finish you choose and there is only one option presented when you arrive at the Pellicle step.

Please contact the Herman Miller Store if you have any further questions at 888-798-0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
How can chair be repaired, & where? Seat won't stay up!
A shopper on Jan 3, 2017
Best Answer: The Aeron chair can be repaired through an authorized Dealer.

To find the Authorized Dealer closest to you, please follow this link: http://www.hermanmiller.com/Store/Find-a-Location

If you need further assistance, please contact Herman Miller Store at 888.798.0202.
What is the weight limit on the new Remastered Aeron?

As per the size reference chart on the Remastered Aeron page, it seems that the upper weight limit of the Size C its 350 lbs, is this correct? This means that the new Aeron has an increased weight limit over the old one, correct?
A shopper on Oct 30, 2016
Best Answer: The Aeron chair size B and C is tested and warranted up to a maximum of 350 lbs, which is an increase of 50 lbs over the classic Aeron chair. The size A is tested and warranted up to a maximum of 300 lbs.

Please contact the Herman Miller Store if you have any further questions at 888.798.0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com.
Does the mineral color chair stain with darker pants?
Beth C on Nov 13, 2019
Best Answer: The lighter material (mineral) is more susceptible to dye transfer from darker pants and jeans. Should this occur, this "crocking" will vary based upon the dye used in the clothing.
what is the difference between lumbar support and posturefit support?
BARBARA O on Feb 20, 2020
Best Answer: The Adjustable Lumbar Support is a horizontal manual pad you can adjust vertically from your mid to low back positioning.

The PostureFit SL support aids in supporting the lower back area (Sacrum region), that helps achieve healthier posture and improved lower back comfort. The bottom support pad will have adjust-ability with how much tension is being applied and the top pad is offsetting lumbar support.
Is there any difference in the material of the base amoung among "Graphite Base", "Dark Carbon Base", and "Satin Carbon Base" options?
. . on Feb 13, 2020
Best Answer: The Graphite and Dark Carbon Bases for the Aeron Chair will be a Glass-Filled Nylon material, where the Satin Carbon Base will be Die-Cast Aluminum.
what is the weight limit of the chair?
Eric S on Jan 21, 2020
Best Answer: The Aeron in size A is tested and warranted for use by persons 300 pounds and under. Aeron in size B and C are tested and warranted for use by persons 350 pounds and under.
How to determine size?
I am 5’4” and weigh 135 lbs. am 64 years in age.
Janet Leigh on Nov 25, 2019
Best Answer: Based on your build I would recommend the B size Aeron chair. You can also view our size reference chart at the following link - https://www.hermanmiller.com/content/dam/hermanmiller/documents/product_literature/other/ap_sizefitref_aeron_chairs.pdf
Can I replace the carpet casters with the hardwood casters? Can this be done at home, by myself? Thank you!
Amanda M on Aug 28, 2019
Best Answer: The casters can be changed. We recommend gently laying the chair on it's side and pulling out the old casters. Depending upon age you may need to wiggle the caster as you pull firmly. Once the old casters are out you would push the new casters in.
can you buy the chair without casters?
Veda S on Jul 31, 2019
Best Answer: The Aeron chair can be purchased with glides instead of casters. If you contact us at 888-798-0202 we'd be happy to help you order the chair with glides.
Which is the best model for back pain? And could you send link that allow me to choose the options I want? Thank you
Harvey J on Jul 12, 2019
Best Answer: The best choice of chair for back pain can vary from person to person. If you contact us at 888-798-0202 or hmstore@hermanmiller.com we'd be happy to discuss more personalized options. Our two most popular chairs for back support are the Embody chair and the Aeron chair with the added PostureFit SL support.

I’m 5’11”, 210lbs. I have a 2012 Aeron size B at work. I love the chair, and am going to buy one for my home. I’m debating weather or not I should get the C size, based upon my body size. The B fits, but I’m wondering if C is going to be a better match?
Anthony L on May 29, 2019
Best Answer: We typically recommend the C size chair for anyone 6 foot or taller. Being 5'11" you are on the border and could go either way depending upon your build. One recommendation we have that can help choose a size is in the seat depth. We typically recommend about 2 inches from the back of your knee to the edge of the seat. The B size chair has a seat depth of 17 inches whereas the C size is 18.5 inches.
I need to purchase a chair for an individual who has a large behind and a high waist, she requires an adjustable lumbar support a little higher than normal. This individual is approximately 5 feet 4 inches and weighs approximately 240 pounds. Do you have any recommendations?
sandra a on Apr 24, 2019
Best Answer: Based on her height I would recommend the Aeron chair in size B but I think the Celle chair would be more suitable. The Celle chair has a wider seat making it more accommodating for all sized users.
