Details

After studying architecture at Gloucestershire College of Art, George Sowden moved to Milan to work with Ettore Sottsass and typewriter manufacturer Olivetti. In 1981, he became one of the founders of the design collective Memphis Group, and in decades since he's collaborated with a diverse collection of companies, including Alessi, Swatch, Steelcase and Pyrex. For the Danish design company HAY, he created the Sowden Bottle (2018), consisting of a stainless steel container with a polypropylene screw-on lid in playful contrasting hues. Suitable for hot and cold drinks. Made in China.
