After studying architecture at Gloucestershire College of Art, George Sowden moved to Milan to work with Ettore Sottsass and typewriter manufacturer Olivetti. In 1981, he became one of the founders of the design collective Memphis Group, and in decades since he’s collaborated with a diverse collection of companies, including Alessi, Swatch, Steelcase and Pyrex. For the Danish design company HAY, he created the Sowden Travel Cup (2020), consisting of a stainless steel container with a polypropylene screw-on lid in playful contrasting hues. Suitable for hot and cold beverages. Made in China.

Coated Metal
For normal cleaning, wash coated metal surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in detergent and warm water; rinse thoroughly and dry. Remove scuff marks from low-gloss coatings with pre-softened paste wax, following the manufacturer's instructions. Remove scuff marks and scratches from high-gloss coatings using automotive polishing compounds, either liquid or paste. After polishing, apply a pre-softened automotive paste wax to restore original sheen.
