      You can create a lounge chair in leather, vinyl, or fabric in lots of colors, including some prints. If you choose leather upholstery, you can opt for our standard leather or our new premium leather, a semi-aniline, dyed leather with 100 percent natural full grain. Color variations and surface marks are an inherent characteristic of this material, which will acquire wrinkles and creases and develop a rich patina over time. The new premium leather is available in black and pearl.

      To complement the lighter materials—including pearl, the white leather—we are also offering powder coat finishes on the base and frame in white and graphite satin, along with polished aluminum.

    The Eames Aluminum Group Lounge Chair has a fixed seat height. If you choose the chair with the swivel and arms option, the seat height is 17 inches. If you select the chair with the tilt swivel and arms option, the seat height is 14.5 inches.

    If you are looking for a chair with seat height adjustment options to fit your desk, you may also want to consider the Eames Aluminum Group Management Chair. The Eames Aluminum Group Management Chair with casters allows you to adjust the seat height with the range of 17 to 19.75 inches. Another great option is the Eames Aluminum Group Executive Chair, which has a seat height adjustment of 17 - 19.5 inches for the manual seat adjustment or 17 to 22 inches for the pneumatic seat adjustment.

    The Eames Aluminum Group Lounge Chair weighs approximately 41 lbs. We have several fabric choices available, including Messenger fabric, Bento fabric, and Bingo fabric. We also offer Leather, Dream Cow Leather and MCL Leather. All of the fabric options are great choices - we would recommend choosing a material suited for your environment. Bento fabric has a slightly larger textile pattern, while Messenger and Bingo have a smaller pattern. Attached are sample images to help demonstrate the difference. You can view all color options available for each fabric on the Herman Miller Store. In the following link, you can view the image swatches in the fabric menu to the right of the chair image:

    fabric replacement

    we have an old model (4 star base) with olive green fabric. How do I replace (or have replaced) the fabric? I also need two new arm-rest screws.

    Eames Aluminum Group Lounge Chair 4 5 1 1
    Offers a lot with so very little. I'm used to mid-century modern pieces always being smaller then I imagine them, the aluminum lounge is a bit of an exception. It's footprint is bigger than I expected and with the addition of the ottoman I felt it needed a good amount to space to have it's full visual effect. Once it found it's home in our informal living room I enjoyed it's proportions and found I had room to spare with my 5' 9" 135 lb frame. My favorite features are the headrest and adjustable tilt function. It's easy to watch a movie in and the leather slung between the thin aluminum edges has the right amount of give. The quality is fantastic as well as the craftsmanship. A small complaint is if the chair has the tilt function, the front edge will sit lower than the ottoman unless it is fully loosened. Meaning while it's performing as a sculpture I loosen the adjustment knob and when I have a seat I need to tighten it back up. I also have a small surface scratch in one of the arms, I don't know where it came from, but since I am usually quite gentle I feel it may be easy to scratch. It's a fantastic and unique chair. A great example of using very little material and creating a comfortable place to lounge. August 27, 2012
