Eames Executive Chair

Designers: Charles and Ray Eames
AKA the Time-Life chair—because it was created in 1959 for the ultramodern lobbies of the Time-Life Building in New York. Also appropriate because, when you sit in it, you’ll have the time of your life.

The details make the product

"The details...make the product."

This luxurious chair is an example of Charles Eames's belief that "the details are not details; they make the product."

Generously sized, the executive chair features the highest quality materials: an aluminum base and frame, finely detailed upholstery accented with upholstery-covered buttons, and edge details typical of traditional fine furniture. Now available in new finish and material options.

The chair is available in leather and a wide range of fabrics. If you choose leather, you can opt for our standard or our new premium leather, semi-aniline, dyed leather with 100 percent natural full grain. Color variations and surface marks are an inherent characteristic of this material, which will acquire wrinkles and creases and develop a rich patina over time.

The new premium leather is available in black or pearl, and to complement lighter materials, we are offering powder coat finishes on the base and frame in white and graphite satin, along with the traditional polished aluminum.

You'll understand the minute you settle into it: Comfort comes first. The seat and back cushions are contoured. The seat cushions are 4 ½-inch-thick foam; the back cushions are 3 inches thick. Armrests are well padded.

The executive chair is unusually wide—26 ½ inches—which provides a lavish and luxurious seating experience. Adjustable seat height, tilt-swivel mechanism, and a stable five-star base add to the comfort. Available with casters or glides.

As a handicapped and very small adult, it is imperative for me to see all the measurements, especially seat min./max., and best to receive the information directly from you -not third parties.

Also, do you have more detailed descriptions of the chair fabric options -elsewhere here on your site or perhaps in a catalog?

As displayed now, subtle yet important factors remain elusive between your options: one fabric may be considered quite comfortable and hardy for the demands of a long-hours, large-staffed office while another fabric may be widely agreed as the softest against the skin and while also long-lasting, perhaps better suited to the demands of one person's daily usage.

Thank you for the ease of a Product Q & A option here -and of course for the incredible products you offer.

Answer:
The Eames Executive Chair has a minimum seat height of 17.5" and a maximum seat height of 20" if on casters.

We have additional details for our fabric options in our materials section of HermanMiller.com: https://www.hermanmiller.com/CMF/CD.... If you select the swatches on the page and double click, you will be able to view details about the fabric content, abrasion, weight, etc. If there are certain materials offered on the Eames Executive Chair product page on the Herman Miller store that you are interested in, you can also use the search bar at the top of the HermanMiller.com website (https://www.hermanmiller.com/CMF/CD...) to look up specifics on that particular fabric.

All of our material options are tested to be durable and long-lasting over time with proper care and maintenance. We would recommend choosing the material that fits best with the environment the chair will be in. If you would like to receive swatches of any of the material options, please contact Herman Miller Customer Care at 1-888-798-0202.

Feel free to also stop by an authorized Herman Miller retailer in your area to view the material options in person. To find a retailer, please visit:

Height of seat

When you say the seat can go up to 20" high, are you measuring from the ground to the highest point on the top of the seat cushion, or somewhere else?
