Designer: George Nelson
Solid wood cabinets to be used alone, in conjunction with or atop the Nelson Platform Bench, or with other cabinets in the series to create stylish storage options for your home.
In 1946, George Nelson designed a series of modular storage units that coordinate in size, shape, and design. With many of the cabinets available both with and without legs, the cabinets can be used in a variety of ways.
With legs, the cabinets can stand on their own, singly or in groups. Without legs, and paired with the Platform Bench and the larger cabinets, they can be positioned against a wall to create a built-in look or set up as a room divider that provides both seating and storage.

Clean profiles with functional elements make each cabinet in this collection a model of efficiency. The Basic Cabinet Series is known for its practical storage areas and handsomely designed exteriors.
All of these cabinets are available without legs, so they can be stacked atop the platform bench, or with legs for freestanding use. The 34-inch-wide and 24-inch-high cabinet is also available with legs, for freestanding use. Legs are 5 ½-inch, black-finished, solid wood.
The Basic Cabinet Series consists of three medium cabinets. This one is a 34-inch-wide and 24-inch-high closed cabinet with two sliding glass doors; it is 18 ½ inches deep.
You can use one cabinet alone or mix and match it with the other cabinets and Platform Bench to create a storage and seating configuration that suits your space needs.
Cabinets are available in two finish options—light brown walnut or natural oak. Drawer and door pulls are custom aluminum alloy.
