Designer: Nitzan Cohen
With a name inspired by a café conversation between a man and woman, the She Said Chair is a softer version of its counterpart, the He Said Chair. The stackable She Said Chair has graceful, solid wood carpentry that sits beautifully in a dining room, guest room, or home office. It’s available in black anilin beech and natural ash.
The Italian design firm Mattiazzi is known for its “healthy obsession” with woodworking and craftsmanship. Designer Nitzan Cohen is known for always starting with questions. In this case, should the chair he was designing be outspoken or a little more timid? He decided to design both—He Said and She Said. While the armrests of the She Said Chair curve gently downward, the He Said Chair armrests assert themselves. The top half of the chair is a tribute to Mattiazzi’s sophisticated technology: The backrest, armrests, and legs display a smooth geometry usually seen in plastic chairs. What a nice surprise to see it in solid wood!
"It is still all about the basics, about carpentry work, an intuition for wood…, years of experience and most of all tons of love for it all."
